Ellen Page won’t play lesbian werewolf, after all
After all the hype surrounding Ellen Page ‘playing’ gay in the lesbian werewolf love story (yep), Jack and Diane, it’s surprising that she is no longer tied to the film. Instead, Alison Pill (who played Anne Kronenberg in Milk) will co-star, opposite Page’s real life BFF Olivia Thirlby.
According to MTV News:
So there won’t be a Juno reunion, whether because Page is too busy for Jack and Diane or, as many presume, because her reps have deemed a lesbian love story not right for her career at this time. But while the film is out a big name in the co-lead, it still has a lot of obvious appeal regardless of who is starring.
Why on earth would a lesbian love story not be right for Page’s career? I mean … come on! It’s perfect. We already know Pill can play gay just fine. All we’ve seen of Page is her mocking gay rumors on SNL. (And for the record, we weren’t convinced. Just sayin’ …)
