What a team!

The Daily News weighs the pros and cons of a possible Senator Quinn:

Pros: She has a good story (first woman/openly gay speaker) and a strong relationship with labor leaders in NYC and can tap into the considerable flow of gay campaign cash that has been streaming into the state.

Cons: Near-zero statewide name recognition, the more conservative-leaning upstate voters might not go for a gay female pol, the slush fund scandal, backlash for the term limits extension battle (those last two could come back to haunt her in the 2009 race, too).

Homophobes are to Quinn as racists are to Obama: Who cares if you don’t get their vote! And did the Daily News just list being gay as a con? Really?
