That song is our most sensitive and emotional, as it’s about how complicated it is to try to have a baby when you’re queer. It came out of this place where I was feeling bad about myself, that I’m not rich enough to have a baby with someone. It’s weird how it’s this dance track and it’s about not getting what you want because of who you are.

JD Samson of MEN, explaining her band’s song “Credit Card Babie$” to the Advocate. Go buy the album so JD can get rich and make babies with Sia already!

MEN, “Off Our Backs”

You gays, MEN’s album, Talk About Body, is FINALLY coming out tomorrow. Not to be confused with Robyn’s Body Talk - but equally as dance-y. The queer part is totally a bonus.

Uhh, who wants to play tug-o-war?

Sia, “Clap Your Hands.”

You know how they say when girls date for a long time they start to sorta look or dress alike? We thought that was totes bullshit. However, it seems as though musician GFs can totally sound alike. Sia’s new single from the forthcoming album, We Are Born, sounds pretty similar to her boo, JD Samson’s jams with her band MEN. But hey, we’re not complaining. Bring on the summer dance party music! We can’t wait to hear what their little credit card babies will sound like.

Le Tigre gets Dirrty

If the prospect of a Le Tigre reunion (YES. Kathleen,  Johanna, JD—the whole shebang) isn’t exciting enough, prepare to have your mind blown: Christina Aguilera is getting in on the rollerskate jams this time around.

This is not a joke! Pitchfork reports:

“Here’s what we know: According to Perez Hilton and confirmed by their publicist, Le Tigre are working with Christina Aguilera. Yes, all three of them, together. Beyond that, we know nothing about this bizarrely awesome combination. It’s anyone’s guess how Le Tigre’s proudly low-budget racket will mesh with Aguilera’s gazillion-dollar bazooka of a voice.”

We are STOKED! This will surely be amazing, and if anyone is doubting XTina’s feminist prowess, don’t:

Girl, you are so ready.

MEN, “Who Am I To Feel So Free”

JD Samson has been pretty busy post-Le Tigre. She and fellow Le Tigre member Johanna Fateman formed the DJ duo MEN, and she had another band, Hirsute. While both projects were equally exciting, they have recently been combined. Now, MEN includes original Hirsute members Michael O’Neill and Ginger Brookes Takahashi (formerly of The Ballet), with contributions from Fateman and artist Emily Roysdon.

We are digging this new track, so basically, we love MEN. Who knew?!
